"The book you're looking at is made up of three sections: a prologue, wherein it is explained how a swamp is created; a central part, in which the stories of 20 disappeared individuals are told in eight chapters, and which also describes the passage through the swamp; and epilogue, where onceout of the swamp, the surrounding landscape doesn't quite look the same. To a certain extent, these chapters may be read independently of one another, all except the epilogue, which should be read last" -- Editor's note.
