Residential School Graves : Canada's Legacy of Shame September 2021

Summary: For over 100 years, Canada's Indian Act forced Indigenous children to leave their families and attend residential schools. It was a form of cultural genocide. It's believed thousands of children died in these schools, but an exact number is not known. Now, hundreds of unmarked graves are being discovered at institutions across the country. It's bringing back pain and suffering for the survivors, and forcing Canadians to confront their racist colonial past. Warning: This story contains details some viewers may find distressing.
