Tragedy in Lebanon : Deadly Explosion in Beirut October 2020

Summary: In August 2020, a huge explosion decimated a large part of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. The blast killed almost 200 people and injured thousands of others. Hundreds of thousands were left homeless. The explosion was a result of highly explosive materials that had been stored in a port warehouse for years. Residents accused the government of mismanagement and corruption and demanded its resignation. This is a country that is in a financial crisis, with high unemployment, and is facing further economic hardship battling the spread of COVID-19. How will Lebanon ever recover?
