"Policy Baby: Rita/Bev follows Bev Jones, an Ojibway woman from Keeseekoowenin in Western Manitoba. She was apprehended by officials from children's aid as a baby and sent to a distant non-native foster home. Six years later, when government policy changed, she was suddenly removed from her foster family and returned to the reserve, where she experienced isolation and abuse. At the age of twelve, she chose to move back permanently to live wither foster family.
