Content descriptions

General Note:
"This publication was made within the framework of Knust's Bookprojects The Netherlands Nijmegen, Jan. 2015"--Colophon.
Art Prison refers to a series of special book residency projects which take place in Knust/Extrapool. Within Art Prison an artist is invited to make a special publication at Knust/Extrapool. The guest artist will be 'locked up' for a period of 14 days in Extrapool to make a stencil printed publication together with Knust. An Art Prison project can be seen as an extended Work Holiday. The project duration is longer, there is more intensive counseling, there is more space and time for more options, and choices and the book will be entirely published by Knust/Extrapool. An Art Prison publication is also special because it is a translation of the work of the artist in the form of a book focusing on the characteristic elements of his/her work. With the possibilities of stencilworkspace Knust this always results in a unique and valuable book. The books speak for themselves and clearly bear the stamp of Knust. They could not have been made anywhere else. All together the books give a good impression of the potential of what can be made at Knust.--from the Art Prison web page.
