Decolonization in practice : reflective learning from cross-cultural perspectives / edited by Ranjan Datta.

Summary:

"This edited collection discusses how to take responsibility to learn and practice the meanings of decolonization from cross-cultural (Indigenous, Black, transnational immigrants and refugee) community perspectives as a form of lifelong learning, unlearning, and relearning process. Although many academic researchers introduced decolonial and anti-racism in their research and education, they have not explained what it means to think of decolonial as a source of knowledge and understanding for cross-cultural Indigenous, Black, immigrant and refugee communities. Our decolonial reflective stories from everyday practice challenge not only our static science and social science mindsets but taking responsibility for the Indigenous land back movement by respecting Indigenous Treaties, taking actions decolonizing our ways of knowing and acting, protecting land-water, creating food security, creating an intercultural space for social justice, and developing transnational solidarity. We hope our decolonial reflective stories from our everyday practice may inspire and transform us—with influences personal, theoretical, philosophical, and global, which have shaped our thinking and being—as antiracist solidarity processes which create all of the belongingness with care, respect, and responsibilities towards building antiracist communities."-- Provided by publisher.
